During his hospital stay in London, worried fans flooded the switchboard with calls about his progress. Thankfully, John made a remarkably quick recovery and, after a few short weeks of resting at home, Asia returned to the road.

  • ASIA, the legendary British band, moves into the next phase of its extraordinary career with Gravitas, a brave new album that explores different musical landscapes while embracing its familiar musical past. Produced and written by band members John Wetton and Geoff Downes, Gravitas is deeply introspective within a clearly accessible sound. The album also introduces the world to ASIA’s new guitarist, Sam Coulson, who came at the recommendation of Mr. Big’s Paul Gilbert.

There is hardly any other progrock musician with a more impressive curriculum vitae than John Wetton! He has joined legendary progrock bands like Family, King Crimson, Roxy Music, Uriah Heep and Asia and he founded his own band featuring Martin Offord from IQ. His bass style and sound is powerful and very disctinctive, the story goes that he played with a piece of glass in order to sound more powerful.. And John is still alive and kicking!
