    The show will also feature some promising young talent. Look out for talented accompanist Joshua Asokan who was formerly a boy soprano under the guidance of Mary Anne David, and subsequently a student in André’s junior class at the Mary Anne School of Vocal Music. A student of St. Benedict’s College at 15, he is a qualified musician, accompanist, composer and music arranger and is currently studying for two performance diplomas and two teachers diplomas in piano while studying for his Ordinary Level examinations next year.

  • The Merry An Singers selected from the students of the Mary Anne School of Vocal Music have been entertaining Sri Lankan audiences for over 30 years and have produced nearly 60 full length concerts. “My husband Andrew and I established the Mary Anne School of Vocal Music in 1981 and the school has always had as its ultimate goal, the improvement of the vocal abilities of its students’ voices and instruction and coaching in correct vocal technique - vocal instruction is based on the Italian Bel Canto method,” said Mary Anne David, founder and conductor of the group and principal of the Mary Anne School of Vocal Music.

Mary Anne states that this event is exclusively organized to acknowledge the talents of the students of The Mary Anne School of Vocal Music, who took part in the competitions of The Sri Lanka Festival of Music, Dance and Speech which is affiliated to the British and International Festivals of Music, Dance and Speech.
