Kids Butterfly Yoga's goal is to instill in children and their families the importance of physical and mental well being. In the fast paced society we live in, it is essential that children learn how to ground themselves. YogaKids TeacherTrainer, Angie Continisio, founder of Kids Butterfly Yoga is also a devoted runner (2007 Chicago Marathon, several half marathons and 10K races). She teaches yoga at local daycares, elementary schools, day camps, private homes and community centers.
Children absorb and process information differently through movement, seeing, listening, touching, singing and reading. The YogaKids method educates the whole child with an integrative approach that addresses their brain, intellect, body and spirit in a seamless fashion.
YogaKids integrates language arts, games, music, science, math and more into a complete curriculum to engage the “whole child”. Inspired by Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Marsha Wenig has created a unique form of enrichment utilizing yoga as a platform for learning, exercise, and building strength of self.
Yoga builds strength, flexibility and balance, develops focus and confidence, and inspires kids to be active and creative. Six energetic youngsters show your child how much fun yoga can be! Children’s yoga expert Marsha Wenig has the kids roar like a lion, stretch like a puppy, and stand, gracefully, like a flamingo, building a sense of accomplishment with every pose. She leads them through more than a dozen poses, plus breathing techniques, shaking like Jell-O, and, most important, calming down and relaxing. Marsha incorporates original songs, zoo animals, and many other playful elements, so kids stay engaged as they learn the basics of yoga. Introduce your child to the joy of fitness with YogaKids!
