  • For 37 years, the Rev. Zachary Hayes, OFM, was Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology at Catholic Theological Union. Born in Chicago, he studied for ordination with the Franciscans in Teutopolis, Illinois, and later earned his PhD in Theology at Friedrich Wilhelm University in Bonn, Germany. During his doctoral studies, he served as chaplain. Upon returning to the United States, he taught for four years in the Franciscan Theologate and joined the CTU faculty in 1968 as a founding member.

    For 37 years, the Rev. Zachary Hayes, OFM, was Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology at Catholic Theological Union.
